I created this one of a kind Origin Sling from a soft and drapey, vegetable-tanned cowhide, which I dyed in my studio using natural indigo. I love how the hide took to the dye bath in its own unique way -- creating shapes on the leather that are reminiscent of hearts to me. I created the sides from full grain American buffalo leather in tobacco tones, which gives the bag nice structure while still being lightweight and drapey. Each side is adorned with a dagger-like stitching meditation featuring black, straw and neon green threads.
Please Note: This leather has a mark from the tannery on the interior of the bag, which I have stitched over. This is an example of how I strive to use every portion of the hide and to find its unique beauty.
