Technology has been doing me dirty lately. A few days ago, I was mysteriously banned from my main IG account (@world.of.maven), which means the account I've been (very casually) growing since 2019 disappeared suddenly from the platform.
I have no idea why this happened -- it's usually caused by someone reporting you for some reason, which..lol -- but it triggered a welcomed pivot in my mindset.
These apps have a lot of power. We give them our time, our art, our lives and personal moments.. it's really important we make sure they're working for us, and not the other way around. I want to take this opportunity to step back and explore other ways of sharing my process with you all. (Because I do love to share, can't stop won't stop.)
This sudden Meta power snatch could have caused me to panic (IG is my biggest following), but Maven was built on the STREETS. I take everything that happens to me as a signal to transform and adapt. I am resilient. I am resourceful. Inhale. Exhale. Inhale again.
After Meta's review, my account did actually get reinstated, BUT because I am just that girl, I decided to deactivate it again to challenge myself to share in a different, more intentional way.
I'm not saying this is a permanent shift, just an experiment I'm conducting in the power of our communication and where it goes.
