Maven Leather + Design ('Maven') was founded in rural Maine in 2015 by artist Emma Thieme. (It actually started as a custom leather motorcycle seat label.) Maven designs are crafted respectfully from rugged, full grain American buffalo leather hides in a small, sustainably-minded studio, now based on the Central Coast of California. Each bag is highlighted with a unique "stitching meditation" created in the moment by Emma.

Maven is inspired and guided by the shapes, colors and magic of Nature and many bags are even plant-dyed by hand here at the Maven leather studio.
